Short answer: Which Slack status app is best depends on what you need. Slack’s own calendar apps are free and enough for “In a meeting”. Status Calendar suits Slack with Google Calendar. Reclaim is a calendar planner that also syncs status on paid plans. Zapier and Make let you build your own. We make Don’t Interrupt, which covers Slack and Teams with meeting names, Do Not Disturb and keyword rules.

We make one of the tools below, so judge accordingly. Every detail is from each vendor’s own pages, checked on 2 October 2026. Prices change, so check them before you buy. Where a vendor’s pages are silent, we say “not documented”, not “no”.

The options

Slack’s Google Calendar and Outlook Calendar apps

Free. They set “In a meeting” or “Out of office” from your calendar and leave a status you set yourself alone. Slack says the status does not include the meeting name, and its pages don’t describe Do Not Disturb. Best if a fixed phrase is enough.

Status Calendar

A Slack-only tool that reads Google Calendar. Its free plan turns Do Not Disturb on and off and uses one emoji and one message for all events. Its Pro plan, with custom messages and working hours, is listed as early access with a waitlist at $36 a year, and rules by event type are listed as coming soon. Its site doesn’t mention Outlook or Teams.

Reclaim

A calendar planner for tasks, habits, focus time and scheduling links. Slack status sync is a paid feature, category-based, with the meeting title opt-in and Do Not Disturb off by default. Its pricing starts at $10 per seat a month billed yearly for the cheapest plan with Slack status sync. Teams status is listed as “coming soon”. Best if you want a planner and status together. See Reclaim and Don’t Interrupt compared.

Zapier and Make

General automation tools. Zapier has a Slack “Set Status” action and a Teams “Set Status” action, but its docs don’t list a Slack Do Not Disturb action. Calendar triggers poll, with a 15-minute check on the free plan and 2 minutes on Professional. Make has “Set a Status” for Slack and only a read-only presence module for Teams. Best if you enjoy building and fixing your own flows. See vs Zapier and Make.

Don’t Interrupt

Sets Slack and Microsoft Teams status, presence and Do Not Disturb from Google, Outlook, Zoom or iCal calendars and working hours. It can show the meeting name, matches keywords like “lunch” and “focus”, supports several workspaces on paid plans, and updates within about five minutes. It doesn’t plan your calendar. Basic is free, Plus is \(4 a month and Pro \)7, with a 14-day trial on paid plans.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best app to set my Slack status automatically?

It depends on the job. For a fixed “In a meeting”, Slack’s own calendar apps are free. For meeting names, Do Not Disturb, keyword rules or Teams, you need a dedicated tool.

Is there a free Slack status automation app?

Yes. Slack’s calendar apps are free, Status Calendar and Reclaim have free plans with limits, and Don’t Interrupt has a free Basic plan with 1 account, 1 calendar and 1 rule.

Is Reclaim a status app?

It is mainly a calendar planner. Its Slack status sync is one feature, available on paid plans.

Can I do this with Zapier?

Yes, with effort. Zapier can set a Slack status from a calendar trigger. Its docs don’t list a Slack Do Not Disturb action, and triggers poll, so changes can lag.
