Don't Interrupt facts
What Don't Interrupt does for Slack and Microsoft Teams, what it costs and where it stops, in one place. Checked against the product on 14 October 2026. Where a limit exists we say so.
Don't Interrupt reads your calendar and working hours, and asks Slack and Microsoft Teams to set your status, presence and Do Not Disturb to match. You set the rules once.
- Chat: Slack and Microsoft Teams. Each Slack workspace or Teams tenant has its own status, and one account can link several (Basic 1, Plus 3, Pro 10).
- Calendars: Google Calendar, Outlook / Microsoft 365, Zoom and any iCal feed. Your calendar and your chat account are separate connections, so a Google calendar can set a Teams status.
- Outlook: some companies make an IT admin approve calendar access for new apps. The iCal feed is the fallback.
- Sets a Slack status (text, emoji and expiry) or Teams status message during calendar events, and clears it when they end.
- Can put the meeting name in the status by using
{{name}}in the status text. It is off by default, and private events always show "Private event". - Asks Slack and Teams for Do Not Disturb during events you choose.
- Sets Teams presence (Available, Do Not Disturb or Offline) and Slack presence (Away).
- Applies different actions inside and outside your working hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Matches words in an event's name, description or location (for example "lunch") to a status of your choice.
- Leaves a status you set by hand alone, unless you switch on the Override status option.
- Appear offline in Teams doesn't silence Teams. Microsoft says you still receive notifications while you appear offline. Use Do Not Disturb to silence them. If both are switched on, Teams shows Offline.
- It isn't to the minute. Changes land within about five minutes, and event times are rounded up to five-minute boundaries.
- It can't set a status by who is invited (1:1, external or large meetings) yet. That is planned.
- It doesn't plan your calendar or move meetings. It only sets your status.
- Presence needs you signed in to Teams. Microsoft applies a preferred presence only while you have a Teams session.
- The free plan adds a short link ("dontinterrupt.app") to statuses it sets. Plus and Pro can remove it.
Basic is free; Plus is $4 a month or $33 a year; Pro is $7 a month or $58 a year. Prices are in US dollars; pounds and euros are also available. Team plans are per seat. Plus and Pro start with a 14-day free trial.
See the pricing page for what each plan includes.
